Timberlands Reopened Following 2017 Fire Closures

September 20, 2017

While the 2017 fire season is not officially over, recent rains and cooler weather have reduced the danger enough for Seneca to reopen its timberlands in most areas. Most land closure signs will be removed over the coming days, however some areas will remain closed for protection of sensitive areas and active operations. Please obey any signs you come across and stay clear of any areas still marked as closed.

We would like to thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation during this summer’s land closure. As a friendly reminder, Seneca has public access policies that restrict activities year-round. Prohibited uses and activities include: camping, fires, ATV and off-road motorized vehicle use, blocking gates, and long range target shooting.
